The True Knowledge of Baptism - Bowing head into water instead of lying down into water
Explanation:
1. One Lord,one faith,one baptism
Baptism from true faith is only one way. Baptism given by God is only one way.
2. Through baptism we are into Jesus. Through baptism we are crucified with Jesus, die with Jesus and resurrect.
Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.(Romans6:3-4 NKJV)
3. Through baptism,we die with Jesus. Which part of us die? It is our body of sin dying. Through baptism, our body of sin is crucified with Jesus. After baptism, our sins die. We have a new life. We become a new person.
knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, (Romans6:6-8 NKJV)
Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.(Romans6:4 NKJV)
and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.(Ephesians4:24 NKJV)
4. Paul told us,we shall be united with the likeness of Jesus death. It means when we are crucified with Jesus,we need die with the same form of Jesus death. The moment when Jesus die is on the cross. Before he die,he bowed His head purposely. So when we are baptized, we shall bow our head into water instead of lying down into water with face up.
For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, (Romans6:5 NKJV)
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.(John19:30 NKJV)
5. Why Jesus die,he bow His head. Because he die for the sins of the world. He was crucified for us in the cross became a man in the likeness of sinful flesh. So the likeness of sinful flesh in the cross is bowing head. Jesus is the offering of our sins.
For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, (Romans8:3 NKJV)
Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him. (Leviticus1:4 NKJV)
What are indispensable elements of truebaptism?
1. Baptize in the name of the Lord Jesus. The name of Jesus must be mentioned.
2. The Baptist must have received the Holy Spirit. For we are baptized by the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who really baptizes people. The Holy Spirit can truly forgive people's SINS.
3, Wemust be baptized in the living water of the river, lake, sea, spring well. You shall not be baptized in standing water. You must be baptized in the natural flow of running water.
4. You must face down into water with bowing your head instead of lying down with face up.
Because baptism is crucifixion with Jesus. Be united with Jesus in the shape of His death. Jesus died in only one shape: by bowing his head.
When Jesus tasted the vinegar, he said, "It is finished." Then he bowed his head and surrendered his soul to God. (John 19:30)
5. Fully immerse yourself in the water.
This means dying with Jesus, being buried with him, and going to hell with him. Coming up out of the water means being resurrected with Jesus.
