Why God Command Moses to build the earthly Tabernacle

Top. It is the copy and shadow for the one in the heaven. It is the preparation for the heavenly one fulfilled by Jesus. The way of salvation is already there in the beginning. Before Jesus come, God use the way which people can understand to display the method to reach God. When Jesus come, he fulfill it in the true way.

They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”(Hebrews 8:5 NIV)

But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. ...It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For

Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. (Hebrews 9:11,23-24 NIV)

1. Build a sanctuary, so God will dwell among Israel. The glory of God is there.

And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. (Exodus 25:8 KJV)Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.(Exodus 40:34 KJV)

2. Make Tabernacle and all instruments exactly according to the pattern shown by God.

According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the

instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.(Exodus 25:9 KJV)

3.God appear and meet with Israel in Tabernacle.

And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glo-ry.(Exodus 29:43 KJV)

And the Lord appeared in the tabernacle in a pillar of a cloud: and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the tabernacle.(Deuteronomy 31:15 KJV)

4. When people seek God, they went out unto Tabernacle.

And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the Lord went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.(Exodus 33:7 KJV)

5. God answered elect from Tabernacle.

And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses. And all the people saw the cloudy     pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.(Exodus 33:9-10 KJV)

6.Priests serve God at Tabernacle for atonement of Israel.

And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.(Numbers 8:19 KJV)

7. God dwells in the moving Tabernacle but not in any house.

Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.(2 Samuel 7:6 KJV)

For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.(1 Chronicles 17:5 KJV)
