God Changed The Recipe Of Mankind
Before human sinned, humans ate eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:16-17 KJV)
After Adam sinned, he was expelled from the Garden of Eden. God changed the human recipe. At this time, people can eat meat. They could not eat meat in the Garden of Eden. After the Eden came out, they could eat meat. The law has changed.
The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. (Genesis 9:2-4 NIV)
In the days of Moses, the recipe changed again. Clean animals can be eaten, and unclean animals can't be eaten. Clean animals such as cattle and sheep pigeons can be eaten. Unclean animals such as pigs, rabbits, loach, shrimps and crabs are not allowed to eat.
You may eat any animal that has a divided hoof and that chews the cud. “ ‘There are some that only chew the cud or only have a divided hoof, but you must not eat them. The camel, though it chews the cud, does not have a divided hoof; it is ceremonially unclean for you. The hyrax, though it chews the cud, does not have a divided hoof; it is unclean for you. The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a divided hoof; it is unclean for you. And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you. (Leviticus 11:3-8 NIV)
After the resurrection of Jesus, the human recipe changed again. Jesus told Peter that those unclean animals can eat. Cattle and sheep pigeons can be eaten. Now, pork, rabbit, shrimp and crab, loach can be eaten again.
About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”“Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven. (Acts 10:9-16 NIV)
The law is not abolished but changed, so in the Eden pork can't be eaten, and then you can eat it out of the Garden of Eden. Then you can't eat it in the Moses era. Now you can eat it again.
Pigs represent unclean animals, and because of the salvation of Jesus Christ, the uncleanness becomes clean. God uses something can be ate and can not be ate to make people understand the holiness and love of God. This is not to say that God's words are empty, but that they are fulfilled.
What can we not eat when we meet the New Testament?
You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. Farewell. (Acts 15:29 NIV)
